Beautiful grounds and spaces... so much so that they trumped our room (but we did have a balcony off of our room that overlooked the complex. Room was quiet and comfortable, but most of the time was spent enjoying the amenities!

The architecture and grounds are wonderful. The service culture is poor. Broken TVs replaced by yet another broken TV, raucous parties in the main hotel (never stay on the second floor overlooking the bar in the main building or you risk a sleepless night), and even 20-30 minutes in line to get a cup of coffee to go tell me that the hotel does not have a service culture worthy of its reputation. The rooms themselves are unremarkable and poorly outfitted. For example, you'll find one open electrical outlet in rooms in the main building - and that outlet is on the far side of the room from the desk.

We booked a last minute holiday and chose the Biltmore Phoenix Astoria at the Octilla Club, which really was above and beyond our expectations. Loved everything about the Arizona Biltmore, impressed with the meticulous grounds, the heated pools, mini pitch and put and especially thought the Ocatilla room was great value. Choose the deluxe room that are larger, updated and stylish rooms, super comfy beds, very clean. The breakfast is a nice selection of cold foods, granola, yoguart, begals, muffins, and the appetizers at night were tasty, as well as the dessert. The staff were superb in their helpfulness and friendliness. Make sure to take the history tour that is offered that was very impressive and interesting. Close proximity to shopping, hiking and city centre. Our 3 kids just loved it.

We only stayed at the hotel for two nights and it was great! As I read the other reviews, I saw none of what some of these people were talking about. Now we were there in October and there were only a few tourists and a small convention. But to me, the grounds were in wonderful shape, the staff was top notch and the food was very good. We spent one afternoon by the pool and everything was very nice. We plan to return.
